PDK io Account Creation Overview
The ProdataKey Sales Representative creates the account for a dealer. Within that account, the dealer is able to manage and configure all the PDK systems such as adding a Cloud Node (or multiple Cloud Nodes), as well as setting up Permissions and adding door controllers. Systems can be classified as a customer system (for managing your customers) or for managing your own system such as for your own business/facility. A dealer (say, XYZ Lock and Key) will add and set up their customers, each of which will have their own unique Cloud Node.
PDK io Account Setup Overview
The full configuration of the system is conducted in our cloud-based software, pdk io. To set up your pdk io account, talk with your sales representative and request an account.
NOTE: It is recommended that your account be set up on a desktop/laptop computer.
An email invitation to pdk io will be sent to you. Open the email, and select Accept Invitation. Begin signing up for your pdk io account by completing the requested fields.
The next screen will be the License Agreement. Check the acceptance box, and select Next.
Complete your company profile by updating the next several fields.
Next, enter your companies credit card information. Your card will be held on file to make payments for the annual hosting subscriptions for each account you bring online.
NOTE: Charges to an account are only made for active devices. Unused devices residing on an account are not charged for use.
- Set up your dual-factor authentication. Enter your cell phone number and select Send code. A text message is sent containing a 6-digit code, which you will enter and verify. (A screen is displayed showing a QR code.)
Another form of authentication uses the Google authenticator app.
NOTE: With the pdk.io email invite, the Integrator must use the Google Authenticator app to scan the QR code, or enter the provided key. Not just any QR code reading app will work. A generic QR code reader app won't provide the needed code.
Open your Google Authenticator app, select the plus icon, and choose Scan barcode.
Use your phone's camera to take a photo of the code on your computer screen. Use the 6-digit code from your Google Authenticator app, and enter it into pdk io.
Select Enable two-factor authentication.
That constitutes the completion of your pdk io account. After your account is successfully created, use your information to log in to pdk io where any installed Cloud Node device(s) are synced to your account.
NOTE: Be certain that permissions added on the Systems page are only those who should have access to all systems on your account.
Once an account is created, follow the steps to log on.
Go to the website https://pdk.io
Enter the account Email and Password.
If desired, check Stay Signed In.
Click SIGN IN.
From your desktop, laptop, or smart device, a shortcut to the pdk io website can be added on your home screen. This saves a clickable ProdataKey icon on your device or desktop, making the icon appear like any standard desktop icon or phone app.
Prior to being able to log in, it is necessary to follow the steps in the Credentials section.
