PDK io People Settings Overview
Click ADD PHOTO to add an identifying user photo.
In the Edit Photo screen, click the SELECT PHOTO button. Browse to locate and add the image file.
Adjust the size and position of the circle to define the visible area of the photo.
Click SAVE. The photo is displayed in the Person screen.
If necessary, assign the person to a Partition.
The Partition field only appears if a partition or partitions have been created. If the person being added is to be assigned to a partition, click inside this Partition field or on the down arrow to select a listed partition. (See Partitions for additional information.)
NOTE: A Default partition exists but the Partition field does not appear until after an initial partition is created.
Once the photo is saved and displayed, the person’s photo size or image can be changed by clicking EDIT PHOTO.
If a user requires access only during a limited timeframe, such as a contracted employee, an activation and expiration date can be set by selecting from the drop-down calendar. If a user is to be allowed access at all times, activation and expiration dates do not need to be filled out. Each user profile features an activation toggle button. This allows managers to quickly enable or disable any user permissions.

Used to set a predetermined date to disable a person’s account and is no longer able to access the system.

- Enables and activates the user account. Provides access to the specified device(s) and settings.
Click to toggle between Enabled Account (green dot) and Disabled Account (red dot).
- Disables the user account, preventing access, settings, and use of access features.
Click to toggle between Disabled Account (red dot) and Enabled Account (green dot).
NOTE: Some fields and features that are described in this Person section of the documentation may not always be displayed as a result of specific options that have been selected (or not selected) upon which those features are dependent. As a result, an option described here may not always be seen on the screen.
Enter the email address of the person named in the First Name and Last Name fields. The person's email address allows access to and the use of other features of the PDK io application.
If using PIN entry, a PIN number can be entered here. Set a personal identification number (up to 5 digits) for the account. (The eye icon to the right of this field can be toggled to alternately show/conceal the PIN.)
NOTE: PIN numbers must not exceed 60000 on a numeric scale.
Duress PINs can be used for lockdowns, notifications, or other events. A Duress PIN is automatically system generated when a PIN number is entered in the PIN field. A leading 9 is added by the system to the personal identification number (PIN) that has been created. For example, if the user-created PIN is 1234, a Duress PIN of 91234 is automatically created for that user.
NOTE: The system-generated duress PIN does not appear in the Duress PIN field until after SAVE is clicked in the Person screen.
The Duress PIN is used to trigger system event rules that use the Trigger option "On Any Duress", group rules using the trigger "On Duress", reports events using “Duress PIN Entered” and “Any Duress PIN Entered”, and Live Events using “Duress PIN Entered”.
EXAMPLE: In a threat situation in which a user is being forced to use their PIN to enter a building or office against their will by an unauthorized person, the Duress PIN can be used to activate an emergency lockdown or some other action to help resolve and alert others to the situation. A Duress PIN rule can also be created that, for example, sends out an email or text message to alert others to a duress situation at that facility.
Click SAVE after setting all of the necessary parameters on this screen.
NOTE: As is the case with most of these screens in this application, the SAVE button does not appear unless and until additions/changes have been made to information in that screen.
