Providing and granting access rights and rules for multiple users in a Group can be done far easier and faster than it would be to provide those same rules and access rights for multiple users one person at a time. The difference is that it eliminates the time-consuming process of adding, changing, and removing access rights individually for each person, making the process for Groups much simpler.
A user can be assigned to a group or to multiple groups. If any group(s) have been previously assigned to the user, they are displayed in this Groups list. If no groups have been assigned to the person, it can be done here.
PDK io Group Settings Overview
NOTE: Group access is essential in having an efficient access control system. It is highly recommended and advantageous to create multiple types of group access rights and assign each person in an organization to one or more of these groups. As an example, all people in a department can be granted the same access rights to a specific area of a building during specific times of the day. Groups can be created based on specific tasks, departments, and working schedules. Common group examples might be Employee 9-5, Employee Extended Hours, IT Dept, Tech Support, Limited Access, Unlimited Access, Maintenance Dept, Accounting, Engineers, After Hours, and so on.
SUGGESTION: Assigning a person to a group named Blank is an easy way to temporarily revoke access without deleting the user and their information from the system. Assigning them back to a valid group and unassigning them from the Blank group will restore their access rights.
To assign this person to a Group or multiple Groups, click the + icon next to Groups. Check the desired Group(s) and click SELECT. (See Groups for additional information.)
