To give a user permission to rules, the user will need to be added to a group, or have a customized rule built. If rules have previously been assigned for this person, they are listed under Rules. To add rules for this person, click the + icon next to Rules. The Add Rule screen is displayed. Select the groups the user will be a member of. Following selection of the group(s), the user will have all permissions set within that group.

A customized access rule is used to create a rule only for this user.
To build a customized access rule, select the + icon next to Rules.
Set the Action access by toggling Allow or Deny. The action option of Allow will simply allow access to the door.
NOTE: If a user has two rules that interfere with each other, a Deny rule always overrides an Allow rule. For example, let’s say a group has access to a server room and additional doors; however, I want one member of the group to not have access to the server room. By creating a customized access rule set to Deny, the user will be denied access to the server room even though another rule allows access. A Deny rule always takes precedence over an Allow rule.
Set the permission timeframe schedule by selecting a Start Time and Stop Time, and choose which Recurring days or Single Date the rule will be applied to.
Choose an Authentication Policy from the drop-down menu, and then choose which Doors the user needs access to. Select the doors by clicking the + icon, then choose the desired doors. Click SAVE after all changes have been made.
Another method for adding people is by importing the users. To do this, select the + icon in the lower right of the People screen. See Adding Bulk Standard Credentials for specific instructions on importing a list of users.
Three rule tabs are available in the Add Rule screen: DOOR, ELEVATOR, and EVENT.
See DOOR Rules for additional information.
See ELEVATOR Rules for additional information.
See EVENT Rules for additional information.
