If your building is a multi-story facility with an elevator, access control devices can be added to the elevator(s) in the same manner that access devices can be added to the doors.
If necessary, you may refer to the PDK io - People article for review.
Elevator Control Overview
Select the ELEVATOR tab from the Add Rule screen to add Elevator rules.
Specify a Start Time and Stop Time in a 24-hour format for the rule to be active. Click on the down arrow in these fields and use the up and down arrows to set hours and minutes. Click SAVE.
Recurring - If selected, check the day(s) of the week for a recurring event.
Single Date - If selected, a rule can be defined for a specific date, such as a holiday closure. Use the Date menu to select the month and day. Click inside the Date field to enter a date using the MM/DD/YYYY format (Month, Day, Year) or click on the down arrow to use a calendar.
Use the < and > to change to a previous or future month.
Click on the month to select a month's name from the drop-down list.
Click on the year to change the year.
NOTE: Single dates are useful for temporary access, holidays, etc. Once the date and time have passed, the rule will be inactive. These rules can be used again by simply changing the date.
Click inside the field or on the down arrow to view and select from the list of options.
- Card Only - Only a key card is required for access.
- PIN Only - Only a PIN is required for access.
- Card or PIN - Either a key card or a PIN can be used for access.
- Card and PIN - A key card and a PIN are required for access.
Floor Groups that have been created can be selected for inclusion in the Elevator rule(s). To select from existing Floor Groups for elevator rules, click the + icon next to Floor Groups. See Floor Groups for additional information.
NOTE: Once an elevator floor group has been created, it needs to be scheduled in the system under a person or group.
Where they have been created previously, a list of Floor Groups is displayed. Check the desired floor group(s) or use the Filter field to search from a long list of floor groups. Click SELECT.
Click SAVE at the upper right of the screen.
NOTE: As is the case with most of these screens in this application, the SAVE button does not appear unless and until additions/changes have been made to the information in that screen.

Creating a Floor Group
Floor groups are created in the Elevators feature of the Appliances screen.
Click on the Elevators icon in the Appliances screen.
Click the + icon in the lower right corner of the screen.
In the Name field, assign a name for the floor group being created.
In the Reader field, select the reader device that is assigned to the desired floor of the elevator.
If required, assign a partition to the floor group in the Partition field.
Click the + icon next to Floors to select the floor to be assigned to the floor group.
NOTE: Once an elevator floor group has been created, it can be scheduled in the system under a person or group.
