Pdk io also delivers significant cost savings over on-premise systems. With the pdk io mobile-first platform, there is no need for an onsite server, computer, or IT-personnel. Another long-term benefit is pdk io will never be susceptible to failure or discontinuation of a server's operating system.
Pdk products are built to be backward compatible. This results in a system that can be scaled at any time: anything entry-level to enterprise level. The newest version of controllers will always be able to communicate with older versions and vice versa thanks to instant software and firmware updates.
One of the biggest benefits of pdk io is the ability of a dealer to provide proactive support for their customers. With pdk io instant alerts, dealers can be notified of any particular event in the system. For example, if a controller somehow loses communication, a text notification can be sent to the dealer alerting them of the issue. This provides the dealer with the ability to quickly deploy a technician to proactively troubleshoot and diagnose the issue before the end-user is even aware of the problem.

When you log into pdk.io, this will be the first page that appears. From this screen, you will be able to easily manage all of your customers' accounts, add and manage Cloud Nodes, and assign/manage Permissions for people that are added.
To add a new customer, select the + icon next to Customers.
Assign a name for the customer account.
Pdk io will display the new account under Customers. To access the customer's site, click on their system. This page is the account dashboard for the end-user. You will then need to add a Cloud Node to the customer.
Select the + icon next to Cloud Nodes.
Add the assembly serial number, and assign a name to the Cloud Node that identifies it with a customer.
Select REGISTER to bring the Cloud Node online.
The Cloud Node just added should be displayed under Cloud Nodes with a green indication mark, which indicates proper connection.
Select your Cloud Node to redirect you to the system to make changes and view configuration options. End-users are given various levels of access to the software in Permissions.

To add a new user and assign a role, select the + icon next to Permissions.
Enter the user's email address, and grant them a role (Reporter, Manager, Admin, or Integrator).
Pdk io will send them an email invitation to complete the sign-up process.
An Integrator level permission gives a user full capabilities, including configuration. We do not recommend giving this level of permission to an end-user. We recommend giving an end-user either an Admin, Manager, or Reporter role.
An Admin role grants an end-user full abilities in the software, minus the configuration options. Users will be able to add/delete people, edit groups, build system events, program auto-open schedules, control elevator access, build and view reports, program partitions, control door states, and view live events.
A Manager role gives a user the ability to add/delete people, edit groups, build and view Reports, control door states, and view Live Events.
A Reporter role may only view Reports and Live Events.
At your company's dashboard, a section for Cloud Nodes and Permissions can be seen. If your company has a system installed at your office, select the + icon to add the Cloud Node here. To grant other employees login permissions to the pdk io software, select the + icon next to Permissions and enter the user's information. An email invitation will be sent to the user to complete the sign-up process.
